Education

  • B.S., Biology, Rockhurst University, 2012
  • M.S., Biomedical Science, Des Moines University, 2016

I earned my Master's degree in Biomedical Science with an emphasis on physiology and pharmacology from Des Moines University in 2016. My research focused on the neuronal connection between chronic pain and depression, utilizing animal models and protein analysis techniques.

In February 2016, I joined Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine as a graduate program assistant, a role I held for three years. During this time, and overlapping the completion of my MS degree, I also served as an Adjunct Professor at Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) from Fall 2015 through Fall 2019. At DMACC's Urban and Southridge campuses, I was the instructor of record for courses including Introduction to Biology, Anatomy & Physiology I, and Anatomy & Physiology II, typically teaching 1-3 evening courses per semester.

In February 2019, I was promoted to Postdoctoral Coordinator in the Graduate College at Iowa State University, a university-wide role in which I supported approximately 250 postdoctoral scholars over more than four and a half years.

In July 2023, I transitioned into a leadership role as Project Manager for the CALS/LAS Web Team at ISU, which hosts over 700 websites. In this position, I manage platform and theme updates, coordinate new website development, supervise undergraduate team members, track financials, support strategic web initiatives, and more.
